Why is it weird? you are a graphic designer yourself, Microsoft has taken the visual style of Mac and improved it it has a more elegant feel than Mac, actually the upcoming Mac Leopard is adding Vista-like visuals such the semitransparent menubar and the time machine interface looks a lot like the vista's flip 3 D, maybe is just a matter of opinion.
